Robotic Surgery in Greece

Robotic surgery is now a reality in Greece, starting a new issue in Greece's surgical history. The first system has been installed in a private hospital but soon another system will be installed in a public hospital.

The name of the robot is Da Vinci. The robotic surgery is applied in serious operations and its advantages are, decreased hospitalization time and less complications during and after the surgery. The whole procedure is bloodless since is done through small incisions. Also it enables tele-operation from any distance. That is very usefull for the people who live or visit distant areas of Greece
